Women's health-tech report 2024

Women’s Health (WH) is coming into a new age of technological innovation, driven by demand for innovative devices, diagnostics, and therapeutics that serve the needs of one of every two people worldwide. Israel is a prime example of such innovation, with a supportive startup and innovation ecosystem, and unprecedented centralized electronic medical records data repository. Despite this, WH is still relatively confined to a narrow scope mostly focused on solutions within the traditional definition of conditions and diseases that exclusively affect women, i.e. fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum.

 

WH incorporates a broader definition beyond conditions or diseases that exclusively affect women, to include conditions and diseases that are more prevalent or predominant in women such as autoimmune diseases, migraine, Alzheimer’s disease, and those that present differently in women such as cardiovascular diseases. In this report, we present a snapshot of the Israeli WH landscape and a discussion about the trends, ecosystem, and innovation driving this market, as well as the challenges facing innovators and stakeholders in WH.

However, change is afoot, and new innovations are emerging in underserved and understudied high market potential WH conditions.

 

This report represents the first step towards a validated, accurate and up-to date summary on the current WH Israeli Landscape for all stakeholders in WH. The report is a culmination of collaborative research, desktop research, a startup survey and telephonic interviews, and aims to present the current landscape and highlight unmet needs in underfunded areas.
